To be honest, i was expecting something more commercial, less energetic from the Arctic Monkeys. Especially after being so disappointed about new releases from e.g. The Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party.
But nothing’s less true; “Favourite Worst Nightmare” is a bit of a suprise, and a pleasant one. It has a more aggresive side than “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not” and although songs like “Do Me a Favour” and “505″ are calmer than what you’d usually expect from the monkeys, they still have that power perfectly blended in.
“Favourite Worst Nightmare” is an album that doesn’t get boring after a few listens, could get pretty addictive and makes you shout along with the songs. Definitely one of my 2007 favorites.
