You might have heard of songs like Trouble Sleeping if you’re a fan of the OC, Veronica Mars or One Three Hill music. If you don’t watch these shows on a regular basis or you weren’t lucky enough to discover this underrated band, chances are you probably never heard of The Perishers.
The Perishers are a four-piece band from Umeå, Sweden and have been compared to other bands like Keane, Travis and Coldplay (some compare them to Radiohead, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were either high or never heard of Radiohead).
Their first album From Nothing to One was released in 2002 followed with Let There be Morning in 2005. Filter describes their music as “a blend of emotional wandering, poetic insight and stark, yet inspirational surroundings”.
They are due to release their new album Victorious on September 4 through Nettwerk (Sarah Mclachlan, Barenaked Ladies). Although no official track list has yet been revealed, song titles include Midnight Skies, 8 a.m. Departure, Victorious and Carefree. They also have a North American tour planned for the winter.
